Show Points and Titles
The following awards and titles are available to any SACCI member owned cane corso.
CHAMPION:
Each Dog/Bitch, after it reaches 6 months of age, shall receive 1 point for each entry it defeats (over 6 months of age) up to 5 points as winners dog or winners bitch.
Best of winners shall count total number of either Dogs or Bitches defeated up to five per
show.
Best of Breed shall count total number of entries defeated Dogs/Bitches over six months
up to 5 points.
3 points will constitute a major win.
A dog will need at least 2 major wins, under different judges, plus minor points to total
15 to become a Champion.
Beginning Jan 1 2012 UKC, AKC, CKC, and FCI Champions of record satisfy the above
requirements.
MASTER CHAMPION:
All Champion requirements plus SACCI approved temperment test.
GRAND CHAMPION:
A Grand Championship title will be awarded to a dog/bitch who accumulates a total of
100 points (15 from regular championship,
2 five point majors in 2 SACCI Regional or National Specialty’s and minor points.
After becoming a SACCI Champion points towards Grand Championship will only be
awarded for Best of Opposite and Best of Breed with a maximum of 5 points per show.
Beginning Jan 1 2012 UKC, CKC, and AKC Grand Champions of record satisfy the above
requirements.
SUPREME GRAND CHAMPION:
All Grand Champion requirements plus SACCI approved temperament test.
REPRODUCTIVE CHAMPION:
This award will be given to any Dog that produces 5 champion offspring and any bitch that produces 3 champion offspring that have been championed after January 1, 2007. The Dog/Bitch must have passed a SACCI approved temperament test and have one of the following hip scores:
OFA - Excellent, Good or Fair
PennHIP - No DJD
Foreign Scoring - HD-A, HD-B and HD-C or equivalent
TOP DOG/BITCH & PUPPY DOG/BITCH OF THE YEAR:
The Top Dog and Bitch of the Year shall be awarded to the Dog/Bitch with the most Cane Corsos defeated for the year.
The Top Puppy Dog/Bitch of the year shall be awarded to the puppy dog and bitch up to 12 months who defeats the most Cane Corsos. The total number of competition defeated for each show (with no maximum) shall be counted towards these awards. No dog shall be awarded both Dog/Bitch and Puppy Dog/Bitch of the year.
Each region shall have a Top Dog/Bitch, Puppy Dog/Bitch of the year for dogs that reside in their region.
Points can be accrued from any approved show in any region. It does not matter what region the points are earned.
TOP UKC DOG OF THE YEAR/BITCH OF THE YEAR:
The Top ranked UKC Dog and Bitch shall be awarded SACCI UKC dog of the year.
NOTICE:
All dogs must be moved up in class when they become a champion with the venue they are being shown in.
The following are SACCI approved temperament tests:
TDI, TT, DD, WDE, BH, CAL
Points will be accepted starting from January 1st, 2008
